In a knockdown drag out Halloween Playoff game, the Bomber Football team avenged last years 2nd round loss to Bremen iand came away with a well earned 17-12 victory. Bombers were up to the task on this slobberknocker of a contest by pounding the ball all night long with Logan Metzger and Landon Musch behind an outstanding effort by the Offensive Line: John Yallay, Holden Day, Eli Dixon, Parker Northcutt, Tyler Kingman and Dyson Henderson. Metzger toted the rock 30 times for 148 grueling yards and 2 touchdowns, his 1st coming on the Bombers 1st possession of the game to go up 7-0 with Yallay PAT from 2 yards out. After Defense got another stop to start the game, Bombers go on a nice drive and had Yallay nail a 27 yard FG to push the lead 10-0 after the 1st Q. The ensuing kickoff was return deep into Bomber territory where Bremen eventually scored on a 20 yard pass, their PAT was no good to make the score 10-6. Bombers offense next possesion had to Punt which led to Bremen scoring again on their next possession with a 67 yard TD strike, their 2 pt attempt failed and the Bombers went into halftime down 12-10. Bombers recieved the 2nd half kickoff and just like the 1st half first possesion, went down the field and capped of the long drive with Metzger 4 yard TD plunge and Yallay PAT pushed the Bombers to the lead at 17-12 and they would finish up for the night. Both teams exchanged Punts on their next possesions and that is where the Bombers OL put the final nail into the perverbial coffin by taking the ball with 3 mins to go in 3rd quarter and went on a bludgeoning 20 play drive that took up 12 minutes of game action and they turned the ball over on downs at Bremen's 7 yard line with the 4th and 4 was not converted. Bremen takes the ball over with just under 3 mins to go and 1 timeout and Bombers defense was up to the challenge yet again and never allowed Bremen back across midfield as their 4th and 7 pass was completed buy tackled short of the line of gain by Cris Crouch. Metzger 30 carries 148 yards 2 touchdowns Musch 15 carries 100 yards Yallay 2-2 PAT and 27 yd FG Metzger 10 tackles and forced fumble Henderson 1 sack Bombers are now 9-2 and will host Andrean for Sectional Championship at Emory Harrison Athletic Complex next Friday.
