Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers Defeat Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison

Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers were victorious against Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison 10-6 on Wednesday. A single by Laney Westfall put Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers on the board in the top of the second. A ground out by Kylie Spencer extended the Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning. Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third when Hunter Biddle singled, scoring one run, Chloe Linder singled, scoring one run, and Rylie Moore induced Madison Minnear to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored. Moore singled to center field, which helped Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers tie the game at four in the top of the fourth. Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Izzy Adams grounded out, scoring one run, to give Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison the advantage, 5-4. Brooke Koebcke singled up the middle, which helped Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers tie the game at five in the top of the fifth. In the top of the sixth inning, Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers went back into the lead after Stacia Crabtree tripled, Westfall grounded out, and Spencer singled to left field, each scoring one run. Kami Davis earned the win for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Linder took the loss for Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison. The right-handed pitcher went seven innings, allowing 10 runs on 13 hits, striking out five and walking two. Moore stepped in the circle first for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. The hurler allowed three hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers amassed 13 hits in the game. Moore and Davis were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. Westfall, the number eight hitter for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers, led the way with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-4 on the day.
